Putting My Experience to Work
Channel Powe is a prominent political organizer, former school board member, and consultant based in Arizona. Known for her tireless advocacy for social justice and educational equity, she has been a leading voice in the fight for more inclusive and accountable systems.
Born in Detroit and raised partly in Phoenix, Channel developed a passion for activism and organizing early on. Motivated by her son’s educational challenges and systemic inequities, she became deeply involved in local politics, serving as a party leader, delegate, and a lifelong organizer.
Over the years, Channel has worked on numerous local and national political campaigns, championing educational equity, voting rights, women’s rights, and social justice issues. As a school board member for over seven years, she fiercely advocated for low-income students of color and promoted professional development, cultural competency, equitable pay, and inclusive policies.
As a consultant, Channel collaborates with organizations to develop bold, innovative strategies for social and policy change. She is known for her collaborative approach and has helped many coalitions and individuals create meaningful change. Her work has earned her several honors, including the West Valley NAACP Agent of Change Award and the Arizona School Boards Association Advocate of the Year Award.
In her free time, Channel is an Elected Officials that Protect America fellow, supports belonging and inclusion in the arts and enjoys nature, wellness activities, and community volunteering. She remains a passionate advocate for universal change, working tirelessly to create an America that truly represents its people.
